The two "r's" in embarrassed are pointless and excessive. One "r" is neat and gets the point across just as well. See?

I think it is because we would be saying assed, instead of rassed. But being bare assed can be pretty embarrassing. Spell however you like, you always seem to be able to communicate what you mean.

(13,409 posts)I consider myself to be a fairly good speller, yet I typically spell the word as you believe it should be spelled. There's just no good reason for it being spelled as is.

i used it in a post not long ago, and my spell check came back to me that YOUR spelling is wrong. i was going to come in here and correct you. teach me not to read a whole post. lol
