Decided last weekend that I needed to replace an aging side entryway that was assembled in haste to replace a crumbling concrete pad.
I am going to replace the kick plate below the door tomorrow and replace the threshold next weekend.
This is what I came up with:

So I do empathize with the job you just completed. Really does look fantastic.
Kick plate ought to be a snap. Enjoy!

(4,279 posts)May I ask how you affixed the side rails/benches? Are those pavers just sitting loose or did you use some sort of glue or fasteners?
Again it looks very professional, top notch job.

(14,910 posts)All the block, including the siderails arw affixed with P&L Landscape block adhesive. It will bond to anything really well. In fact over the winter I used it to tile the risers on the steps leading into our basement family room (slate to wood).
The slate is sitting on a bed of 8" of crusher and on top of that 2" of 1B fine stone dust.
