I love the friendships you make here. The ability to meet progressives from other parts of the country is wonderful to me.

I can be a bit of a broken record about my emotional problems and other issues and I've got into trouble on another forum for airing my dirty laundry there a bit too much, became REALLY unfriendly and I was sort of forced to leave after a 10 year history there.

Also I'm a liberal guy politically so it's nice to hang out with people of like mind.

by reading this site. It's funny to me how so often the news media will "report" something that I saw on DU three days ago.

Another thing I like is the wealth of knowledge here. You can put up a question and somebody will have the answer for you.

plus sometimes I just feel like being on a site that is virtually free of RWNJs and bigots. I used to read comments a lot on Yahoo and YouTube, but I eventually just got sick of it. I felt as if I was losing brain cells when reading that stuff; almost every other comment on those sites is either something anti-Obama, anti-liberal, anti-gay, anti-women, or something racial.
