started posting racist hatred things....didn't miss it a bit. I am doing just a bit with it now, but I find it more annoying most of the time, than anything else.

I thought it was a huge time-waster. I can keep in touch with family and friends in other ways.

just family and a few close friends...I have a few from here. No drama no fuss. My family are pretty much all Democrats. I have one wacky libertarian friend who likes to irritate me like a little brother and one conservative friend who never posts his whacky shit on my page.

I 'like' a lot of funny pages cuz I love humor, so I enjoy my fb.

But tonight, I am almost ready to put my cousin's widow on ignore. On the other hand I am tempted to just freak her out. She posted a picture of GWB in uniform. My knee jerk response would be to post the Bob Dole story with some extra details about him. There's also the Reagan in uniform that would have made the Dole story even more rewarding.
Then she posted the prom picture. My temptation is to say "good looking fella. The president reminds me of a guy I dated a few years ago." Knowing that this woman abhors interracial relationships leads me to think it would be satisfying to freak her out.

Thus far I have restrained myself. But it is a struggle. I think that I am going to take her off of my newsfeed that helps keep from seeing annoying stuff. You can actually pare it down so that you only see who\what you want to see.

Some of those elephant jumpers were in the College Democrats with me. It is becoming very disheartening.

I have several family members from SW Missouri. It's useless with them. I do have many family members who are good Democrats.

Some friends are arranging a 25th year reunion for next fall. An astonishing number of old friends are hardcore RWers.
One thing good about FB is that it revealed this and sort of let me know who the gun nuts and bigots are. Avoiding them will be my best bet! Fortunately there's a handful of really good friends who I am looking forward to seeing.

way to my right. I could either be the uncle that bitched constantly because they were too stupid to be human or back off and leave them be. I decided to leave them be. I don't really give a fuck if they think correctly-its not my job. Their parents have done a pathetic job but that too isn't my problem.

They told me they won't do it, that all I could do was stop using it and wipe as much information as I could.

I don't know how their policies may have changed in the meantime...

I rarely visit, don't really know how to use it...and only use it to see pics posted by my son or the children of close friends. I think I have 12 'friends' on FB.... I don't know how one slipped in there.

I can't imagine any drawbacks, unless you will mourn the loss of annoying people.

Hope you had a great holiday weekend!

Out of 200 friends, I have only a few who are definite "out" Republicans (and even they don't post that much Republican stuff). There are a handful that I suspect are sort of conservative, but aren't that political. The rest range from middle-of-the-road Democrat to very, very liberal.
