Little kids didn't wear diapers. They had splits in their pants so they could shit.

I saw a documentary on Current TV about shit and it was the grossest thing ever. People bathing and washing in the Ganges river while a few feet down someone is taking a dump.

the Ganges is full of shit, which she thinks is gross. If there is shit everywhere in Beijing as well, she will consider that likewise gross. Hence, she wants to never live there.

Consider me someone who likes to live in a shitfree world

The documentary was interesting - it showed how sanitation was advancing in Indonesia.

I realize that I live a spoiled life and my mother would remind me she never had anything more than an outhouse when she was growing up, I just like things contained.

Seriously, in less developed countries, people do as nature intended. I guess when "nature calls" if there is no other alternative, there comes a point when you must go.

Perhaps they don't have the cultural hang-ups about some of these things we do. I know I've seen documentaries about people using very fresh manure from livestock as building material, picking it up and plastering it on walls or mixing with straw to make bricks for building. I think I recall even seeing hunters smear themselves with feces from herbivores to help mask their own scent from the prey species.

I wonder if they have "pooper scooper" laws for the Chinese babies like we do for our dogs.

to have babies do that in the middle of Beijing I would think they should have some sort of clean-up laws. I mean there are only a gazillion babies in that city - that could be alot of poop.
