I know she's been around for a little while, but I just "discovered" her recently. What an incredible voice!

I do, however, worry about when her voice changes with puberty. Boys to men have a much more difficult time with changing voices, but will this be a factor in a couple of years for her?

Regardless, her singing is sublime, and I look forward to her continued success!

1. Puberty not a problem for Jackie Evancho

Boys develop Adam's Apples. Girls do not. I went from being a soprano to being a bass in a year or so, with a voice-cracking period. With girls it's much, much less dramatic.

Right now Jackie's range is that of a lyric soprano. As she matures she may stay that way--especially if she keeps working of retaining the high end of her range. The most extreme you could expect is for her to become a mezzo soprano. That's about it. In terms of song selection, she's still have the very wide range she now enjoys. At most listeners with perfect pitch might notice her singing versions of songs she does transposed down by a few notes.

Right now, actually, she sings some of her most challenging songs--like Puccini's "Nessun Dorma" transposed down a bit from the written score, in order to protect her voice.

At the same time, it's also possible that with training--and she won't start real musical training until she's passed puberty--she might extend hier high range even higher, and start singing "Nessun Dorma" in its original key.

The average listener won't notice, frankly. Her vocal magic will continue to be vocal magic, regardless of what flavor of soprano she winds up being as an adult. It's her emotional connection with the song and the audience and her gorgeous tone that are the core of her appeal, and those won't change.

3. Thanks for the information

I have wondered on that issue in the past. It's amazing how mature her voice actually sounds. I've been spending time at Youtube listening to her work.

While I've heard her opera work, I like the more traditional songs more, as I'm not a huge opera fan. But she has a fantastic career ahead of her!
