The day before a primary, Michael Savage discussed actual horse racing on his show!

I was tuning through my radio this evening and heard the San Diego statiohttp://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=245199n KFMB 760. For some reason, that station broadcasts at 5 KW in the day and 50 KW at night. That expanded signal at night beams KFMB all the way up to the San Francisco area. KFMB was playing Michael Savage's show at the time (tape delayed, at 10PM hour).

Given how the media focuses more on who's attacking whom and polling in primaries, rather than issues, it was somehow amusing for a political talk show to be talking about real not political horse racing. Savage played an audio clip from the 1969 movie Midnight Cowboy (starred Dustin Hoffman as Ratso Rizzo) before criticizing Hoffman as washed-up and dissing "Hollowwood" as keeping communist, 1930s-style attitudes. He went on to criticize the new HBO show Luck that stars Hoffman and expressed concern on how horses on the show who get leg injuries are simply euthanized. The thing with Savage is that on certain days especially before presidential primaries, he avoids talking about politics until the middle of the program.

Also on that show savage interviewed Allen West including a question about Florida's controversial redistricting of West's district. http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=245199
