Disease, I guess. And an occasional sense of futility when patients are non-compliant with their treatment plans, or continue to smoke, etc.

(28,394 posts)You must see all kinds of ailments that are contagious. How do doctors avoid catching everything they treat?
I know from working in an elementary school.... I'm always using the disinfectant and sanitizer! If a kid sneezes, I call the custodian to disinfect the area! LOL I'm kind of germ-aphobic though. I don't get sick very often though! Must have built up a "resistance" over the years.
