ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. —Animal Hoarding AltamonteAuthorities said 116 small dogs were discovered on Thursday in a Seminole County home.

One investigator called it one of the worst cases of animal hoarding ever in Altamonte Springs.

Seminole County Animal Services were called by the owner of the home who said his caretaker had died and he was unable to care for all the animals.

"He's voluntarily turning the dogs over to us, because he knows it's better for them," Robert Pelton said.

2. Yes, the problem is the shelter then kills the dogs

That's what's terrible in these situations. They take the dogs away from the owners and then end up killing most of them. I'm not saying animal hoarding is good, but it's hardly humane to kill them.

116 dogs in one house is insane. It's cruel, it's animal abuse. They said they had to use hazmat suits to just enter the home!
