Semi Ramps off I-74 then lands in a fiery crashThursday afternoon, Aug. 1, a semi driver went for a wild ride after he was forced off the roadway by another vehicle.
According to Indiana State Police Senior Trooper David Noah, at approximately 1:39 p.m. a 2000 Peterbilt semitractor trailer rig driven by 30-year-old Ryan T. Young of Owenton, Ky., was eastbound on I-74 approaching exit 132 when another vehicle began drifting into his lane.
THE TRUCK CAN BE SEEN STARTING AROUND THE 3:25 MINUTE MARK. WARNING, THERE IS PROFANITY USED.
Young told Noah he swerved to avoid the other vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate where the semi ran up a hill then through the guardrail. The semi then continued eastbound as it ramped the U.S. 421 interchange before striking another guardrail tearing off the fuel tanks causing the fuel to ignite.
