9. I think you have it backwards

My dog has that same exact bed and she uses it as a pillow (the large bed). So it looks to me like the dog took the cat bed first, to use as a pillow, the cat got the bigger bed (because as posted upthread, their ego needs space too) and everyone is sleeping happily.
