I saw them in the theaters. I watched the Sean Connery Bonds on TV. So there's a nostalgia component there; I understand that.

As I got older, and began to appreciate the various features of a good spy thriller, I began to like the Moore Bonds less and less.

I've heard people describe the Daniel Craig Bonds as simply a response to the hyperkinetic thrills of the Bourne movies. But I think Craig's portrayal is the closest to the spirit of the books.

films on TV and the Moore-Bond movies at the theater. I also agree that the Moore films were just not up to the Dr. No or Goldfinger quality. I think the worst of the Moore-Bond movies had to be 'For Your Eyes Only'.

I have not watched a Bond film since Timothy Dalton was Bond.

I mean seriously, what self respecting super spy would drive a '74 AMC Hornet? Even the Lotus Esprit S1 was rather anemic at 2 litres. At least the Esprit could transform into a sub. That was cool.

I did like Moore as Bond though.

Roger Moore was the effete, elegant 'Saint'.
Connery was THE Bond.
James Bond.
Period.
Full stop.
