HTML questions

On another forum I need to include a table in one of my posts, and it would be helpful if it could include borders.

I can do it easily enough in straight-up HTML, but I'm posting in that similar format that uses square brackets instead of carets for indicating HTML tags.

What is this other format called? And is there an easy way to transfer tables into that format?

Thanks!

but I think that BBCodes are kinda specific to the board software. Many commands are the same but not all.

I'd look here for general info: http://www.bbcode.org/

and here for tables: http://www.bbcode.org/reference.php

edit~ Also, you may have to have elevated privileges on that board to be able to do some things..

here's more examples of tables with borders: http://www.juot.net/forums/showthread.php?p=872497#post872497

It's a hobby forum, and I'm the admin, so I'll fool around with the formatting to see what I can do.
