Over the course of the last 40 years who were the three right-handed presidents? Hint: none of them are well remembered.

(3,251 posts)Reagan was a lefty who was forced to write with his right hand. Conventional wisdom outside of serious political discussion remembers him well.

(3,251 posts)his time.
I was around then when he was president. He wrote with his right hand.
These presidents of recent note were left-handed: Ford, Bush I, Clinton, and Obama.
The 1992 election was notable because all three major party candidates were left-handed: George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Ross Perot.
I am left-handed, and I paid attention to that.
Case closed.

(13,390 posts)Don't ya love the irony! Ford's clumsiness was attributed to his left-handedness.

(3,251 posts)Lots of people were forced to write right-handed, but that doesn't make them "left-handed."
My sister writes with her right hand and does almost everything else with her left hand. She's NOT "left-handed."
Thank you very much for stereotyping left-handed people as "clumsy."

(13,390 posts)I was mentioning a bit of history. Brain-dominance does not go away. Being forced to use the opposite hand doesn't change the neurologically defined tendency. I write, eat, and shoot pool left handed. May I request your expertise to determine my handedness?
