The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDamn, DU is ugly today.
Glad I was too busy at work to pay much attention.
I'm going home in 1 hour and 4 minutes. I plan on relaxing, not reading DU or any other newsish sort of stuff, playing some computer games, trying a new salmon recipe with avocado sauce, playing with my cats, having a conversation with the husband, and then going to sleep.
Icky, crappy day all around. Plus, I miss my son and DIL. This is going to be a lot tougher than I thought.

(8,492 posts)I've fallen out of bed before. That's the main reason I choose my nightstands carefully. Almost killed myself about 20 years ago because the nightstand was shorter than the bed. Head wounds bleed a lot.
Glad to hear you're safe.

(8,492 posts)You're right. 'Ugly' just didn't cover it.
I sorta find 'pug fugly' offensive, though. Pugs are adorable. Messy, loud and smelly...but adorable.

I had a really serious issue with my eyes last year that prevented me from reading. I need to get back in the habit. I also need a comfy chair and a good lamp. An ottoman or footstool would be nice. And a small table. Someone to bring me snacks and stuff. A nice rain to listen to while I read.

(102,141 posts)my sweet Aussie mix pup has finally decided to peacefully and passively coexist with the zillions of wild rabbits in the neighborhood. Usually she lurches at them, but there she lies, under the shade of a tree and only a mere 10 feet from where an adiult rabbit is burrowed into a little hole eating grass. Sophie could easily get to him, but she is just content to watch.
Seems some species can peacefully coexist....
It must be something in the air. My 'evil' kitty curled up with her brother the other nite. He looked terrified and started to move away, but she gave him that look that said, "If you try to get away, I'll kill you." So, he stayed and she just laid down next to him and rested her head on his stomach. It was the first time since they were little that she showed any type of affection towards her siblings.
He never closed his eyes. He just stared at me for the next hour hoping someone would rescue him.
