Gustav Holst wrote an orchestral suite called The Planets between 1914-16. There are seven movements.

It's a very popular work in concert. Holst was a keen student of astrology and Sanskrit; he wrote several works based on Hymns from the Rig Veda, the Mahabharata, and a chapter of the Ramayana.
