(12,132 posts)but just in case the TB producers have lost their minds I'd like to qualify that as probably not a very good lunch.

(39,345 posts)Technically, while he's on fire, he hasn't actually exploded in the the trademark TB puddle of red goo. And remember Russell Edgington was set aflame, buried in concrete, and still was dug up. So, there's that...

What Maisie Knew (2012)

(857 posts)His star has been rising in Hollywood and he is probably getting more expensive. The producers left it ambiguous in case he becomes too costly in the off season to rehire. That would be my guess.

(20,043 posts)I think we'll see him in Season 7.
That 'Eric cliffhanger' was cool, the rest wasn't very good in my opinion. I was a little disappointed.
And what the hell is up with Violet & the way she is about having sex with Jason? Bizarre.

(3,832 posts)If they kill Eric off, that will be the end I think. No one was very interesting this season.. and the ending episode, well it was just kind of floopy and really petered out.

(16,327 posts)They have one more season to go, so I think they were setting pieces in place for the end of the show. I have no doubt about Eric being OK -- I think they will follow the books on his relationship with Sookie. We saw a hint with the pairing of vamps with humans for protection. I do think it was a weak season -- the same thing happened with "Six Feet Under" towards the end. They managed to pull it all together for a great last season. I hope Ball can pull it off again.

(3,832 posts)(Alan) "Ball, who was the creative force behind the HBO series since its premiere, stepped down as showrunner at the end of Season 5. Co-executive producer Mark Hudis succeeded him, but was later replaced by writer-producer Brian Buckner, who has been with the show since its inception."

(16,327 posts)Wasn't aware Ball was out -- that could explain much of what has been problematic.

(13,661 posts)very, very unhappy with the way the books ended... not just the story, but many felt that Charlaine Harris really just phoned it in (poorly written, bad ending, etc.).
I'm on book 4 now, and it's a lot of fun - not sure if I'll read the whole series or not.
