I was riding the bus back home and thinking "Boy, this is weird. I can't feel my lower lip at all."
I kept biting on it to see if the feeling was coming back.

About the time I felt my upper and lower tooth click, THROUGH MY LIP, a lady sitting across said "Oh, HONEY! Are you OK? You're bleeding."

is one of the worst sensations! I hate when I do that!...

I had a father who was entirely unsympathetic to my pain. Whenever I'd do that, he simply ask: "Did it taste good?"

Every time. He thought it was a joke. Meantime, I'm looking around for some sharks to feed him to...
