(41,915 posts)He's a friend of a person I follow so I don't know him. He says that she was genuine, but that they go into the audience and interview people ahead of time and choose someone they think can carry it off well. She, though, was a surprise. According to him those who do the duet also get to go out with them afterward and hang out. I don't know if Kristen Chenowith hangs out, but she was indeed impressed, as they all were, by Ms Horn.

(43,049 posts)ecstatic that it worked out that well.
Chenoweth is an ensemble player from way back and ego just doesn't come into it-- a duet with a great singer is one of the best things going.
And, she isn't "outsung" by anyone. She may, however hold back on a light song until she sees how it's going. If the partner can't sing, no point in embarrassing her.
That wasn't a problem here, but she let the new girl shine.
That's just how she is.

(12,132 posts)but if Kristin Chenoweth never sang a note I would still love her always just for Pushing Daisies.
