The week of health scares!

So, I guess I just need to vent a little. It's cathartic.

Last Sunday, I had a brief but fairly worrisome bout of chest pains and high blood pressure in the days thereafter (likely brought on in part by worrying). I got into the doctor's yesterday and they did an EKG, felt around, checked my lungs, and I'm fairly sure they drained me of all blood. They said everything seemed okay and non-emergency (and my BP was oddly perfect), and results from the blood in two weeks.

So, today, the next day. Relief. The morning is going well. I eat breakfast and, as my mom and I are watching The Price is Right, I stop paying attention while dropping my pills from my pillbox to my hand. I accidentally took 30mg Valium where I should only take 15 morning and 15 afternoon. Doubled up on Tizanidine, too. 4mg instead of 8. Managed to spit the rest out.

My poor mother was crying; I think she was more afraid than I was. We called poison control, they said it was okay. We called my psych on vacation, and he was very nice. He said I could take 100mg and it'd just knock me out. I'm disabled, so I take a lot of pills, and this is the first time I've ever made a mistake.

Lesson Learned: For low stress, don't take your pills while absorbed in the Showcase Showdown.
