(20,176 posts)It was the first song I ever learned for performance and the one that got my college experimental punk band (I played the banjo and sang...with blue hair in a floral dress and eyeglasses super-glued together and painted with nail polish.) banned from campus at Catholic Univ. I posted the lyrics for anybody that doesn't want to listen to 4 minutes of really-dark emocore.
You told me that you want to die.
I said I've been there myself more than a few times.
And I go back every once in a while.
You called me lucky, you...
You called me lucky.
You said tonight is a wonderful night to die.
I asked you could tell, you told me to look at the sky.
Look at all those stars, look at how goddamn ugly the stars are.
It's one or another.
Between a rope and a bottle.
I can tell you're having trouble breathing,
'Cause you'll never be o.k. (you'll never be o.k.)
You'll always be in pain.
You'll always feel this way.
'Cause things they never work out right (the wrong way, the lonely way).
You'll always be in pain.
You told me that the daylight burns you
And that the sunrise was enough to kill you.
I said maybe you're a vampire.
You said it's quite possible, I feel truly dead inside.
It's one or another.
Between a rope and a bottle.
I can tell you're having trouble breathing,
'Cause you'll never be o.k. (you'll never be o.k.)
You'll always be in pain.
You'll always feel this way.
Cause things they never work out right (the wrong way, the lonely way).
You'll always be in pain.
Don't forget to let your life rot you inside out.
Don't forget to let your life rot you inside out.
Don't forget to let your life rot you inside out.

(2,654 posts)Her performance (for lack of a better term) on SNL a few weeks ago is one of the worst (if not THE worst) musical performances I've ever heard.
It sounded like a zombie cat was trying to meow or a ghost was trying to communicate via Ouija. It was awful.

(21,046 posts)They have gone further on less talent than most people. I believe they started using Vox amps because they wanted to be like the Beatles.....snicker....not to be mentioned in the same sentence.

(1,296 posts)slit your wrists in the sense that you just can't stand to hear...or like, slit your wrists for real? Whichever, here is my pick for the former:
I swear, I don't know just why this song irks me like it does...but its like nails screeching down a blackboard:
Ewww. I just really hate it for some reason!!!!!
On the latter, Nirvana:

(32,061 posts)I was stuck listening to it four to five time an hour every hour during last summer. And, when we were out in the field, one of the kids I worked with would whistle it non-stop. I still, to this day, cannot stand this song.
