Thanks for all good wishes and vibes. We brought him home about 11 pm and this time he stayed. Mr. Bear has just left to take him back to his place. He's such a trooper about the whole mess.
I am bloody EXHAUSTED. Off to convert the guest bedroom back into my office.
Or...sleep.

(38,310 posts)Glad this episode is over for him.
I hope he "outgrows" it. These days (mid fifties) they mostly just make me blind and the day is ruined whether I take meds or not. I haven't had a curled up in front of the toilet praying to die or worst trip to the E.R. ever for many years.
It's not a cluster headache is it? Those are worse.

(41,959 posts)It is a migraine syndrome but apparently the pressure is near the part of the brain that makes you throw up. I have mild ocular migraines but no big deal.
I hope he outgrows it too but he's had this since he was two and he's twenty six. Methinks it's time to talk with another neurologist.
But first, rest all around.

(11,862 posts)Seems if it can stop chemo patients from vomiting it may help your son? You know the stuff with the least amount of thc so getting high is not a problem?

(6,154 posts)From your description that sounds horrible, I HATE throwing up! And any symptom like that would be terrifying to witness, at least for me. I've grown up with a fear, probably instilled by my worry wort father, of certain neurological symptoms being a sign of a stroke or something worse among these sever head pain and vomiting are being up there. In some ways it's good that he's had the issue for as long as he has as it likely means it's something not as serious, not that it makes the suffering any better. Hugs to you and your son.

(41,959 posts)Insane how something like that can be non-life threatening. We worry about his teeth, and his throat, and what he might tear, but when it's done it's done. Believe me, he's had every test known to man.
Phentex
(16,334 posts)scared me all the time but she never did find any kind of trigger for why it happened. At other times, she ate bottles of aspirin. And then...
she became a second grade teacher. I figured out the trigger then! j/k
Hope your son feels better!
