(23,152 posts)"A Russian cargo plane, a Japanese fishing boat, and a stolen cow came together last month in an odd convergence, according to a report from Reuters.
The Japanese Coast Guard was called to save the crew of a sinking fishing boat. The crew members reported that the ship was hit by a cow falling from the sky. The improbable tale was given little credence until the Russian Air Force stepped forward with verification.
Apparently, crew members of a Russian cargo plane spotted a healthy-looking cow and decided to stash it in the cargo hold before the plane took off from a field in eastern Russia, with plans for a major cook-out when they landed at their destination. Once air-borne, the cow went berserk, and the crew pushed it out of a cargo hatch at 30,000 feet--just above the hapless fishing boat.

(6,154 posts)I'm trying to think of the logic here. I mean the whole idea of watch for falling rocks is to get drivers attention and make sure they are alert to the possibility of falling objects. They make no mention of the size and shape of said rocks, heck trees could come down just as easily as rocks. Why would you specifically need to watch out for cows, as separate from rocks? Wouldn't a falling rock sign do just as well here? Do you need to do something special if you see a cow falling out of the sky as opposed to a rock?
Course this is probably a photoshoped sign?
