they have to be completely dry before you can reinstall them. Not just toweled off, left unconnected for several hours or overnight to dry.
I'm assuming you have electric coil burners.

Put them on high until they glow and anything on them is sure to be gone.

(118,492 posts)6. I never cook at home. I don't think I've ever used more than one burner and I've been here 5 years.
I have noticed that if I turn on the wrong one the smoke alarm goes off. So I scrubbed them tonight. It was very oily. No idea what caused it.
