In the list of myriad things my biological father asked for during the divorce decree was "the return of my box of condoms." My mother swore to the court she had no idea what condoms he was referring to as they'd never used them in the 15 years they were married and that she'd even looked and could find no box of condoms. She offered to buy him a box of condoms, he insisted he wanted that box of condoms; that there was a box of condoms in the dresser, four drawers from the top in the back of the drawer between a watch-box and a paperback Bible. And so...she went home to look...and true-enough, there was a box of condoms there...from 1974, before they were married.

I hope to whatever divine entity might exist that he didn't actually use them....though he did get remarried about 3 years later to a girlfriend I only met after the engagement who had a 2-1/2 year old son whose "father isn't with us anymore." I've always wondered if her son was actually my half-brother...they were only married for about 8 weeks before she left him and I've never heard word of her since.
