and he's been the spokespooch for SoftBank for years. He's become quite a celebrity, and when he didn't appear in commercials for a while, it led to the Japanese version of the "Paul is dead" rumors.

the dog was wagging its tail, it reminded me of one clip I saw on the MTV show Ridiculousness, where they showed a hippo wagging its tail while taking a shit.
