Kinsey is eight years old. She was chasing a squirrel on the trail, and slid down a slight incline. She hurt her back leg, and cannot put any weight on it. My husband is taking her to the vet in the morning.
We just lost our cat. This is scary.

(149,588 posts)Ah, she still thinks she's a puppy!
I suspect she will be OK, but the timing sure is lousy...
Vibes to her, and all of you!

(60,014 posts)could be a torn ligament (she made too quick a cut when running the beach and ended up lame)....sending positive thoughts your way, though, for it to be something far less serious.

(713 posts)Yep, Been there.
It's so hard to watch them limp about.
And they look at you with those eyes...
Hoping for a calm night and a very swift recovery.

(5,604 posts)Odds are she'll be fine, but its good to have her checked out. I get anxious whenever my Ava gets too excited and slips on the ceramic tile floor with a crash.

(14,061 posts)And I am right there with you -- this week we found out our 3-year-old Dachshund has a slipped disc.
It is scary -- just like when one of your kids is sick.

(1,113 posts)Hope it's only minor and she heals quickly. I can imagine she's looking at you for help with her eyes saying help me, it hurts. Don't forget to let us know what happened at the Vet's office.

(2,684 posts)He's a true couch hound and I think when he's outside and gets excited he out runs his body and pulls an acl. This is the second time he's done that, different leg, the fist time I took him to the vet. The options were real expensive surgery, expensive surgery or time to mend. He healed then and is recovering now.
Sorry about your kitty, we lost Tiger last June and it still hurt so much.

(6,154 posts)It's probably just a bad sprain but I'm sending good vibes just in case anyway. Our lovely Josie had to have one of her hind leg amputated due to cancer, she recovered quickly but passed away some years after :'(

(15,220 posts)My hope is that, by now, Kinsey has been to the vet and is all fixed up.
Let us know how she's doing when you can. Until then - hugs and healing to your family.
