While I was hoping against hope, between day 3 and day 4, Domingo plateaued and then headed quickly downhill. Although he refused to give up trying, she stopped letting Sage feed her. She resisted my hand feeding as well, biting me as hard as she could, but not as hard as the day before. And then a few minutes later, she started panting and then passed quietly in my hands. I lay her in her cage so Sage could say goodbye, which he did by gently grooming her head one last time.
She's now resting under the lilac tree beside the garden.
Sage is doing well. He's back to joining the bigger birds with me in front of the 'puter for play time. I used to let them all out for play time, but a couple years ago, Domingo started having a hard time keeping up and kept ending up flying to the floor where Luna could grab her, so I stopped letting them join us.
