Please read: click to help people who must leave abusive situations but are worried about their pets

being victims of retaliation if they do. Pass this around to as many people who will click as possible.

From the site:
Because so few domestic violence shelters have the ability to accommodate pets, victims often feel like they only have two options when it comes to their animals: leave them behind, or remain with their pets and subject themselves, their children, and their pets to continued abuse.

RedRover’s Safe Escape grants provide timely financial support to enable victims and their pets to flee their abusers. Grants are available throughout the United States and may be used to pay for emergency boarding and veterinary care. They also provide support to domestic violence shelters to help them expand their services for those with pets.

Your click today will help provide five weeks of peace and protection for these families and their pets.

Hope you have an enjoyable weekend planned...
Gearing up here for a big basement purge next weekend (not much down there anymore, but I want it all OUT!). Then the pre-winter vacuuming up of all of the accumulated cat fur down there - three of our cats prefer to sleep down there (on their heating blanket/bed pallet) and if I'm not careful fur tumbleweeds accumulate quickly. I really looked at our living room walls yesterday and realized they had a fine coating of fur. Lol. Spent an hour vacuuming the walls.

I would never leave my girls (two kitties) behind. I would live in my car with them before I would give them up.

Was in this situation myself, so I know the fear. But that was before the internet. You have no idea how grateful I am that you posted this. If any of you have friends that your gut is telling you something is wrong, it probably is. Speak up, they will deny it, but don't give up.

I am sorry to hear you had to struggle through that (especially when there were fewer resources), but glad you made it to the other side. Thanks for kicking this thread. Share the information with as many as you can.

Evidently there was a threat of violence against the dog, so I took him in. He's a great dog. Just about every day I look at him and wonder how anyone could have done such a thing. Had I not taken him in he would have gone to the pound the next day and almost certainly been killed within days.
