Feeling kinda down

So I'm back home in NYC for the weekend to attend a friends wedding. Monday I have to head back to Texas and I have to admit I haven't adjusted well and feel pretty homesick while in Texas. Sorry don't mean to whine

You're not whining...

It's tough to carry on as though nothing is wrong when you miss being around the people and places you love...

Is there any way you can return to NYC? I'm guessing there isn't, or you would have already done it.

2. I moved to Texas because my dad retired there and he recently had a second major stroke

So I moved down to help take care of him. I met my girlfriend there years ago when I was visiting him and she moved up to NYC to be with me but she is happy to be home. But I guess I just have issues adjusting here maybe it would be different if I could get out more but I don't drive and spend most of my time having to help my dad I can't really leave him unattended for long periods. He's got a nurse for the weekend but I can't afford to have one all the time

Could you afford to get someone in a day or two a week so you could do something else?

I'm sorry you're in such a bind.

To long they'll force him into a home and I can't allow that I cooked in one for 3 days before I quit cause I couldn't stand to see how the people were treated. I managed to pay out of pocket for one this weekend plus my gf parents are gonna stop in

You do have some resources, and I hope you will continue to make use of them...

And if you don't get this stuff out, it can overwhelm you.

Remember, this situation won't last forever, even if it feels as though it will...

Some day your dad will be gone, and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you did your best for him.

Hang in there...
