The article cites his beautiful use of language. When I was a kid I just wallowed in that. Dandelion Wine, October Country... I particularly loved The Emissary, the short story in the click-through article. It had a creepy Bradbury ending but what caught me was the beautiful description of the sick child whose dog went out into the world and brought all its wonders back to him. And Cougar and Dark's circus just floored me. So little sic-fi has that opulent use of language.

My favorite novel and what I consider to be his best is "The Martian Chronicles."

He always had this tweedy professor look going on, especially in his more recent pictures, so I bet he had a pretty sweet office.

But I liked how Lem seems to be working out of a dank concrete bunker. Really fits with the tone of some of his books.
