(17,742 posts)I'd advise for anyone that just viewed up until last week to just stop there and let the rest of it go.
Think of it like the Sopranos where you get to imagine what happens next.
In fact, I'm thinking I should stop now too. Just don't watch the last couple episodes. I don't think I can take any more.

(18,497 posts)That was one of biggest "screw yous" to viewers ever. Writers didn't have the guts or wits to finish the story.

(3,286 posts)Everybody had an opportunity to experience what it was like to be 'Tony'. Every person who came through the door or who was already sitting in the restaurant could be there to kill you. Despite this you maintain an air of normality with your family. Brilliant!

(30,885 posts)Before James Gandolfini's passing, I didn't think there was a snowball's chance in hell of a Sopranos movie, miniseries, anything. O was convinced that they were finished. Now, without Gandolfini, it's impossible. Kind of like when George Harrison asked if The Beatles would ever reunite and he replied "Not as long as John remains dead."
I watched that final Sopranos episode "live" as it aired. And I like a lot of people thought "You have to be frigging KIDDING me."
In my opinion, they went out on top. Don't get me wrong...they had a couple of episodes here and there that were real stinkers (like Season 1, Episode 10, "A Hit Is A Hit" with Bokeem Woodbine as rapper "Massive Genius." The writers (and actors) were just way out of their element, the episode tried too hard, and ultimately failed. That wasn't the only one, there were others, but for the most part, they nailed it and went out on top.
Then again, who knows...maybe "the didn't have the guts or wits to finish the story." We'll never know for sure.

(10,096 posts)Hey,
That was a crazy episode, what I love is that I have absolutely no idea what will happen next. I kind of thought tonight's would have been an interesting last episode, I don't know, I'm all confuzuled. I got the sense that the way the phone conversation between Hank and his wife was edited that she is in on some grand scheme with him and the call was part of that. Anyone else get that vibe?

It will be interesting to see how the writers play that out. I don't think Law Enforcement in real life would be dumb enough to buy it.

(1,569 posts)Even if Hank and Gomez weren't dead (and Jesse "missing" , they didn't feel they had a case without the money and the money is gone. Obviously they have a very strong circumstantial case against Walt, but they have nothing against Skyler except that her husband was/is a monster and that she had very good reason to be afraid of him.
Any half competent lawyer should have no problem getting her off. Keeping any of the money, even the car wash, probably isn't very likely, but she very much has plausible deniability and the added kicker of abused spouse.

(90 posts)It took me a minute to catch on, though. I think he got the idea when Junior
called the cops on him. Now they are safe, and Skyler is not implicated. I don't
think she knew what was up at first, though.
That was one INTENSE episode. No wonder Vince Gilligan called it his "favorite episode."
This entire season all I do is mark time until Sunday night, counting the minutes until
BB comes on.

(32,886 posts)The DEA and IRS are now going to comb through everything about them to see if there is unaccounted for money or purchases, like, ahem, the car wash.

(23,796 posts)Anything Skyler did can be seen as under the threat of violence from Walter. She may still have some charges, but greatly reduced from what they would have been.

(32,886 posts)They don't care if she was under duress for that. Her money will be gone and she has no job at this point.

(599 posts)That flashback at the top of the epi wasn't just showing us the shoot-out was at the same spot as the first cook. I'd bet it'll tie in to Jesse's next step.
What a ride!

We have loose ends tied up on Walt Jr knowing about Heisenberg, and Jessie about Jane's death - but what about Grey Matter and the reason Elliot and Gretchen are worth billions now on Walt's co-research? (Elliot's birthday party - Walt was introduced as the guy who "unlocked the secret to the patent" or some such.) Gretchen mentioned him abandoning her at a summer visit with her parents when they were dating, but we never got the whole story on this. I hope Vince Gilligan has a wild card up his sleeve on that subplot...
Any other threads not tied up? Lydia?

(16,230 posts)It's a satellite view of the Bear Canyon Arroyo Spillway Dam, the place where Jesse and Walt went to be picked up by the red van. Notice the vehicle parked by it.
