I feel so upgraded

I haven't done a damn thing thing all day but I feel like I've accomplished something. BTW, you ever notice:

Me neither. But because I have the internet now I know. I always liked this one:

Because cartoon characters are funny. Reason #2718 China's kicking our ass. Their Firefox logo is cooler.

Pretty:

V838 Monocerotis (V838 Mon) is a red variable star in the constellation Monoceros about 20,000 light years (6 kpc)[1] from the Sun, and possibly one of the largest known stars. The previously unknown star was observed in early 2002 experiencing a major outburst. Originally believed to be a typical nova eruption, it was then realized to be something completely different.

Only an unusually exotic collision can produce the Strange and the Charmed. It is beautiful, is it not?
Yes. These are astronomical objects, then?
No, sub-nuclear particles.
I thought so.

You must know about M31.
Yeah.
Now, see, I like it when they give astronomical objects names, you know, like "Andromeda" and "Saturn" and "Sea of Tranquility." This whole numbering thing is just too boring for us civilians.
Do you know how many objects are up there?
Well, I know it's over fifty.

Obligatory non sequitur... Rozanne was filmed in my favorite city.

By the way, China's not kicking our ass. They need us more than we need them. And that is reason #2718 that there'll never be a war between the US and the PRC. But that caveat caveated, your post is awesome.

They have cheap labor, and...

Well, that's all they got, actually.

As you said, they need us to buy their stuff. But, they are expected to overtake us in published peer reviewed science by the year 2013 (and never look back). First we shipped our manufacturing jobs overseas by actually giving corporations tax incentives to move them off shore. Then it was engineering. And now it's basic scientific research. Neil Degrasse Tyson breaks it down:

I wish it was just the Firefox logo.
