The DU Factor 'Coming Through' for this homeless Army Vet: PLEASE Rec!!

Willis Earl Beal -- Write that name down, because he's going to be big soon, if he can get exposure.

Heard his incredible song 'Coming Through' on public radio a few minutes ago. Unbelievably, he was rejected by X-factor auditioners, but his sound is so amazing that I put it to you, the 'DU Factor' to help rec him to stardom! He deserves it:

This week NPR Music writer and editor Stephen Thompson introduces us to the soulful sound of Willis Earl Beal and his new song “Coming Through.”

Thompson says Beal not only has an amazing sound but an amazing story.

“He’s an Army veteran from Chicago who’s been homeless, and whose songs were first heard when he started leaving self-made CDs in public places for people to find. He recorded his first album on a karaoke machine, but it found a national audience anyway,” Thompson told Here & Now.

It's a soulful listen with a great beat... and powerful, all at the same time.

(spoken) A lot of people think that the lives they lead are the truth
They think that what they believe is the truth
They think that what they see is the truth
Well, I'm your boy, Willis Earl Beal, and I don't believe that.

Listen,
You may never know the machinations of the show.
The ride might stop and you might drop or die upside down.
Baby, don't worry whether you finish,
For all hearts will surely diminish. Yeah
And the truth will soon be coming through, woooa-ooh.
The truth will soon be coming through, yes

JUST WAIT AND SEE,
IT'S GONNA BE EMPTY
EVERYTHING YOU DO,
THE TRUTH IS COMING THROUGH

(spoken) Yeah baby,

Now,
Righteous indignation and blind dedication
Everybody got a cause, everybody separated
but there are no separate spaces
Morality and virtue could easily hurt you
So, don't pick a side, just ride the tide
there are no lies when you realize
that the truth will soon be coming through
One more time baby,
I said the truth will soon be coming through.

(spoken) I got one more verse for ya' now.
Identify yourselves by stating your names,
Validate your independence by being pawns in the game.
After scraping to the top, nothing to do but drop
then start over again - woooa-oh

I say, the truth be coming through.
I say, the truth be coming through.

JUST WAIT AND SEE,
IT'S GONNA BE EMPTY
EVERYTHING YOU DO,
THE TRUTH IS COMING THROUGH

Don't worry about it baby
it's gonna be all right (fades)

Voice, music and lyrics! Glad you like him. Listened to the song at least 8 or 9 times today, myself.

annoying to me, mixed in with the ever changing frequencies in my brain. It's nice to find someone I can actually listen to.

tinnitus and music before. Glad his music doesn't create a problem for you.

What kinds of music sounds annoying to you with this condition and do you know if this happens to everyone who has tinnitus?

when digging around for more info about him, that his backstory is pretty rough, though, but then, so are a lot of other vets' stories.

The song sounds best in stereo, with the volume up and, at the end of it, being pressed up tightly to someones chest.
