I saw smoke like billowing up out of his cube and got real concerned and asks if he was ok! He said it was just his esig. I said oh, you're toking up, that's fine. He said no he wasn't toking. I asked of he did two sharp intakes of breath, he then shut up. LOL

I bought a Blu e-cigarette last week. It was $10 for one cigarette. It made me cough terribly. Not even cigarettes do that to me. And that one cigarette was supposed to equal one pack. That damn thing did not even last one day.

But I think the nicotine lozenges are great. Start with the four milligram, move down to the 2 milligram. Avoid the cherry flavor and the store brands. Or you could just take the dog for a walk.

I have tried everything, even hypnosis. That didn't work either. I can't quit cold turkey. I would be climbing the walls and no one would stand to be around me.

I am 74 years old and have been smoking since I was 16. I only quit twice in my life, and that was when I was pregnant with my two children. I could not even look at a cigarette without getting sick. I started smoking after the kids were born to lose the baby weight. If I could only trick my body into thinking it was pregnant, I would be able to quit.

They're more tolerable and give you that throat hit you're gonna miss. But be careful, you have to adjust. When you draw e-vapor into your throat, It's going to make you cough. Better to not inhale initially. Also, buy a disposable pack because if decide you like e-cigs, you're going to want to invest in tank-type versions with a push button.

Google Indy Vapor Shop if you're interested. They ship, and you can find 10% off coupons by just picking the first result from a google search.

Lots of good flavors available too. The chocolate one is my favorite.

It's mostly garbage that they sell. What you need is a real vape shop, or a good online seller. The great thing about vape shops is that they can help you with getting setup and most let you try before you buy so you see what you're getting.

I'm not really considering using my e-cig as a means to quit. I'm doing it because I like smoking. I recommend the Blu. Good throat hit, and lasted quite a while. Then you can keep with those, or buy an e-cig that's refillable. Buying a refillable e-cig is much cheaper than buying a one-use one.

They are the equivalent of 20-24 mg nicotine. The regular cartridges only go up to 16 mg and aren't as harsh.

The disposables are really harsh. Cigarettes don't even make me cough like they did.

to get myself off tobacco. It's been only a couple of days so I've been doing both: less on the cigarettes, take a couple drags of the e-cigs. My favorite flavors are peppermint and peach.

However... they may not be a good thing for you to start doing. That's because you have been off nicotine for 7+ months now. Are you sure that you want to start the nicotine and smoking behaviors again? You've been doing well so far. A rough day isn't a good reason to go back to a bad habit - no matter how comforting it may be.

And congratulations on your will power!

And the taste is definitely an acquired one.
I tried it years ago and am so glad I didn't stay with it.
I smoke, and that's a smelly habit. But talking to people with that stuff in their mouth and all over their teeth and listening to them spit just grosses me out.
But as always... to each his own.

In a pinch, whatever Walmart sells may work. The cheap ones will actually bring on the nic fits even worse. You get that little taste which drives you to the local 7-11 for a pack.

I got mine from: http://www.vaporkings.com/Default.asp Never experienced any problems with shipping.

I didn't smoke, but I have asthma. I use the same hardware as a microdose delivery device for my meds. (I have much better control over my damned lungs than I did with an inhaler, a nebulizer and pills.)

From what the former smokers in my lab say, the more serious hardware is your friend, in part because the financial investment makes you commit, and because they provide a better experience. They all started with a far higher level of nicotine than most of the basic kits provide (24-35 mg/ml, IIRC) -- low nic levels being the thing that seems to drive people back to burnables (I work with serious geeks -- they did their homework and set up testable hypotheses.). And the more serious hardware is more reliable and needs less messing with. (On this, I agree -- the bare minimum hardware I would use now is an EGO battery and a basic tank, but since I mix an extremely specialized liquid, I can't use cartridges anyway.) The other piece of advice they give neophytes is to plan your quit date after you have your hardware. If you're a carton buyer, plan to make a hard transition when you're working on the last couple of packs. (It really, really helps if you're an outside only smoker, allow yourself to use the ecig in the house, and you pick your quit date for miserable weather. Think blizzard or heat wave. Build a reward into vaping and a cost into smoking.)

If you do smoke in the house, well... Start cleaning. First, the stale smoke will remind you, and second, in about two weeks, it's going to get on your every nerve.

My lab mates also recommend forbidding yourself to leave the house for the first few days of transition, so you can't be tempted to get more burnables. They take a commitment, but it's a reasonably easy one if you build in rewards.

(Also, the tobacco flavors are... Not worth the effort. Pick a flavor you do like -- fruit, chocolate, coffee, liqueur. I've heard the tobacco flavors compared to cold tofu when you're craving artisanal bacon.)

We've used this advice to help a group of seriously hard core smokers (schizophrenics in group housing) transition to ecigs. Since nicotine seems to be one of the better self-administered medications for controlling the neural disruption, we could not make them cold turkey, patches don't provide for self-administration, lozenges and gums provide too much self-admin and most of their livers/neurochemistry can't handle adding another med (bupropion or varenicline). Three years, no relapses.
