Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2?

Please make this happen.

Twitch is reporting that Ford is in talks to appear in the Scott-helmed film. This contradicts an earlier statement by Alcon Entertainment producer Andrew Kosove, who said the movie was envisioned as an entirely new, Ford-less take on the Blade Runner universe.

They only have a four year life span, and Ford is 30 years older.

9. At risk of sounding obvious, if they make a sequel, she won't be back.

This is Hollywood. If you make a long lapse-time sequel, you have to recast the female lead so that the geriatric male lead isn't forced to make out with someone more than twice his age.

Here's how it'll go: they'll work like hell to get Ford back. If they get him, they'll work to bring Edward James Olmos back, maybe as the new police chief. They'll pay a pretty penny, but not too much, to have Rutger Hauer make a cameo as they guy they cloned Rutger Hauer from the first movie out of. The female lead will be in her mid to late 30s so it's a little less bizarre when Indiana macks on her. There'll be a LOT more big explosions in this movie and it'll have a happy ending (although maybe just a little sad as an homage to the first movie) right after the hero kills the lead bad guy. Han will not shoot first.

There, now I've saved you $12 two years from now.

11. Since only Ridley Scott is silly enough to believe that Deckard is a replicant, it's not an issue.

I like the music and effects but the cliche law enforcement/police theme is so overused it really is a boring movie after a few viewings. Like all over the top hollywood crap, 2001, etc. no human is so intelligent to create the technology they so wrongly predict.

12. If you sum up Blade Runner as a "law enforcement/police theme," then you haven't really seen it.

Much more going on than that. And if you gauge the quality of a film by the accuracy of its predictions, you're watching those films for the wrong reasons.

Besides which, the film is 30 years old, and this "cliche law enforcement/police theme" that you mention wasn't yet a cliche at the time.
