Ever accidentally hit the wrong button in the elevator?

Pro-tip: many elevator controllers will let you cancel a call by holding the button down for a second and then double-tapping it. Others just by double-tapping it.

Use this power only for good, people.

1. Ever intentionally hit the wrong buttons? Some guy was acting like a douche so I hit every one

between where I got off and where he got off. Then I looked back at him as the elevator shut. I wish I had a camera to take a picture of his face.

which will cancel the last button hit.

I so rarely hit the wrong button that I always forget about the "call cancel" button until it's already stopped on the wrong floor.

while visiting my grandmother as a teen. I'll always hit the 1st floor and walk the flight of stairs if I'm unsure.

5. The hospital where my Dad was last month was completely confusing

The parking garage had its own elevators that were floors 1 through 5. Level 1 on the parking garage was Ground floor in the main part of the hospital where the floors ran Ground, then 1 through 6. But if you walked the length of the Ground floor to the wing where Dad's room was, you were on Floor 2 and could take the elevator from there down to the first floor or up to floors 3 to 6.

The level that was First floor in the parking garage, Ground floor on the main wing, and Second floor on the other side of the hospital was the only level that connected directly between the various building sections. It was very confusing.

6. Yes and even better - got in and stood waiting for the elevator to move

Without pushing any buttons. It was late enough that no one else pushed any buttons to call the elevator, so I just stood there for several minutes before it dawned on me that I needed to do something.

This was during a very tiring and stressful period of time - I did it more than once during that week. Maybe my mind was just ready to turn off and the time alone in the elevator was the first chance it got.

Press and hold the button for the floor you want, and the elevator will bypass all stops in between.
