Sigh, I driving the first snows of the winter (for me).

As I approached Ft. Bridger near the Wyoming Utah boarder the temp dropped and the rain turned to snow. The only upside of trucking in the winter is that the cold kills off the bugs smearing my windshield.

The snow was big and fluffy, but the ground was too warm for it to stick on the highway. That comes later on..

Been sunny and warm all week, and supposed to continue!

I'm loving it - I know winter is on it's way - so I'm out there in my shorts enjoying this last blast of heat.

When the nice weather lasts this long, it usually means when winter hits,

It's gonna hit hard, but oh well,

I'm used to it, and,

I'm ready -

I was 16 or 17 before I ever saw snow falling from the sky. Winter outside of the L.A. area still kinda freaks me out.

I'm sitting at the Flying J in Ripon, CA doing my 34 restart. Stay safe out there and keep on trucking.

Are you an independent or do you drive for a company?
I drive for JB Hunt Transport, 12 years and counting so far, so, you came across the 3 sisters. How was it?

When I deliver to the Chicago area, I run the I-15 to I-80 route, so I do not pass by the Three Sisters (Located in the Cascade range in Oregon, right? If I pickup or deliver in the Indianapolis, or even the Champaign IL area, I run the I-74, I-44, I-40 route. 95% of my runs are between those two areas, and Los Angeles.

Stay safe,

If you come across I-80 east out of Neb., you come across Elk Mountain and then the 3 sisters.

I love going to our Chicago terminal, it's got a cafeteria for the drivers, sleeping quarters, laundry, showers and a 6 lane fuel station.

The 3 sisters are west of Elk Mountain, coming out of Rawlins if you're headed east.

The water is around 64-65 degree mark, so tomorrow I will paddle out (surf) in just my board shorts, and rash guard. My cut off is 63 degrees, and then it's wetsuits till late spring, early summer when the water warms up again.
