Not sure if it's any good, but at least it's finished. Most of the time I hate them too much, by the time I get over halfway, I can't finish them.

It almost looks 3-diminsional.
Nicely done!

(8,514 posts)If so, is there ever a time where you get so that you don't hate your paintings?

(149,588 posts)And there's an artistic gene on both sides of my family.
My mom painted, and my husband used to as well...
My oldest daughter got the gene and she's a professional artist now.
I like to take pictures. It's fun and I never get tired of taking them.
I don't recall my daughter or my mom ever saying they hated their work.

(8,514 posts)It's not an innate talent that makes the choice of colors that go together. It's a color wheel. You just choose opposite colors on the wheel and they compliment each other.

(8,514 posts)I think it's cool to have original oil paintings in an office. Not necessarily my own original paintings, but what the heck. It's actually replacing another of my original paintings in that office, which I now hate.
I might just have to buy someone else's original work, or I'll end up having a bunch of original paintings that I hate. And these are pretty large canvases, too.
