Evidently there's this "Normal-guy-tries-to-work-extraordinary-jobs" Reality TV show in Belgium...Except unlike the stuff we see in the USA, it's actually good...

(38,304 posts)Learning to fly a 737 in a month, take off and landing, with no previous flight training is pretty damned intense.
Imagine the stress of your first driving test multiplied by 100,000.
Training like this would usually only happen in world wars or invasions of hostile space aliens.
My least favorite nightmares are where it's up to me to save the world and I can't remember the math. Worse than going to an important public speaking event and discovering I'd forgotten to wear clothes. I can deal with the naked part, but forgetting the math??? Horrors.

(38,304 posts)I have great respect for his instructor who knew the exact limits, where it was time to take over.
The most intense learning is in the mistakes.

(30,947 posts)But the takeoffs and landings gave me adrenalin rushes. When once you get in the air, it is smooth sailing.
