Next time, try not breaking bones and have a better weekend.

To make the best of a crappy situation, be sure to tell all of your friends and family how much pain you're in so they do stuff for you. They might even bring you food and cookies!

Feel better, you'll heal, LISTEN to the doctor and don't make it worse! Seriously!

That really sucks, SA - hope you've got some good painkillers and family/friends/room-mates to keep you comfortable...

it was broken. Happened while loading a patient into an ambulance, a litter drop it's called. I'm a volunteer EMT.

Although I'm a volunteer I'm covered by workmans comp. There is going to be screws, plates and PT in my life. Not bitter or upset my company (for my regular job) is a great place to work and once things settle down I will see about doing my work at home. The bright spot in this otherwise awful situation is that at least it didn't happen in the summer. It is going to be months before I'm walking without crutches and splints/casts/splints. Still on serious meds so if I don't make sense don't blame me.
