I carry a wallet in my left hip pocket.

I keep it in a little drawer when I'm at home.
When I leave home it goes in my left hip pocket and it contains everything I need to function in the world.
Driver's license, couple of credit cards, library card, Medicare card, etc.
I can go anywhere in the U.S. and survive with that small (3"X4"?) wallet.
If I brought my passport, I could probably survive most anywhere in the world.

Miz t. carries a purse.
Most of them are BIG.
So big that she 'loses' things in them.
I've tried to find things in it.
"Honey? Where's the cellphone?"
"It's in my purse."
"Where's your purse?"
"I think it's in the kitchen."

I located the purse.
It was hanging on a doorknob.
Looked for the cellphone.
There were lots of little compartments and pockets.
There was an amazing amount of stuff in the purse.
Four lipsticks.
Three old grocery store receipts.
Dental floss.
Three pairs of sunglasses.
Five bottles of nail polish.
Five.

Couldn't find the cellphone.
"Hon? I don't see it."
"Let me look."

And by god she came up with it.
Somewhere, in the depths of that purse, it was there.

You should see what is in my purse. It would be a good weapon if I had to use it for defense because it is so heavy.

are like a gas. They expand to fit the confines of the purse until either a bigger purse is needed or it wears out. If you are going to lug a bunch of crap around, no matter how big your purse is, eventually your bag will get big enough to explode. This is why I carry a very small bag. Anything bigger just collects crap.
