(aka Auction Pitch) is a trick-taking card game, usu. 4 players (but can be played with more or fewer)

Bids can run from 1 to 13, or in a common variation, 51 points. Bidding 51 points is sometimes referred to as "shooting the moon"--but to be successful, the bidder is required to capture all the pointer cards, Ace, Jacks, Jokers, ten-, three-, and two-cards of the suit selected. Since the Ace is the highest card of a suit, and the deuce can only be won by itself (ie, no higher card can take it), the bidder or his partner needs to have those two cards in order to successfully capture all the points. Usually another high card must be held as well, but without the ace and deuce, there is no chance of success.
