I long for the days when I could just go buy something new, not have to learn about it first.

I went to look at TVs today. Last time I bought one was 1986.

I didn't buy one, but have been home googling, "smart TV", how to get HDTV
"... in order to watch high definition programming you will need three things: a source for HD Programming; an HD Set top box or tuner; a high definition television set (HDTV)."

I have to learn what are the first 2 things they named....

A friend even older than me suggested going with 40" TV. (The ones I saw were 39" ?) Said she bought
a 32" and wished she'd spent a little more and gotten a bigger screen.

Vacuum tubes, where art thou?

If you miss vacuum tubes get a 'high-end' audio amplifier, they're still the rage there... n/t PoliticAverse Nov 2013 #1
