I went one step more and put a mirror next to the track.
The angle the mirror made with the track caused the reflection to be
much longer than the original.
oops.
Is that sin or cos or tan?

(26,602 posts)The train entered the left side of the frame, reflected off of the right side, and went back to where it came from!
(You all have some long trains down there in AZ, and from the reaction of the kids it seems like they'd make good babysitters. Set the kid down next to the fence to watch the train, and you've got plenty of time to runs some errands or grab a cup of coffee... )

You may not believe this, but it is true.
A friend of mine convinced me to put a penny on the track - then we slid back down the bank awaiting the train - we all knew the schedule of the local trains.
As the train approached, my friend said something to the effect that the train would flip off the track when it hit the penny.
Terrified of what I had done, I raced back up to retrieve the penny in front of the approaching train, then dove back down from the tracks;
All to the loud laughter and ridicule of my friend and his companions.
I left my underwear in the nearby bushes before going home.
No explanation needed there I hope.
