It allows certain birds and predators the ability to use them to access and pillage the nest of certain species.

99.9% of birds build their nests it TREES of all things - lots of perches available.

Birdhouses are built by us humans. Many predators, out of their wisdom AVOID human habitats.

Don't understand your reasoning.

Both Audubon and Cornell Lab of Ornithology suggest leaving perches off the front of a bird house to prevent the unfair advantage of predation.

Houses should also have an opening no larger than the species in which the nest box is being utilized to attract.

I don't care what Audubon and Cornell Lab of Ornithology or any other "experts" say.

I've watched birds for decades - young ones get out on the branches to test their wings - then fly.

What do you expect young birds to do, go out the hole and drop to the ground?
