(10,558 posts)...we are in the comfort room at the vet clinic. She is about to undergo an exploratory operation to find out what the mass in her tummy is. We are both quite nervous she is not being so brave, whining constantly about being here. Nurse just came n got her yo put her under. She is the best pit bull in the whole world...and my sole companion. Her name is Molly. Wish us luck.

(10,558 posts)First off I don't normally hijack threads like this, my apologies to you KamaAina for doing just that. When first I posted about Molly, we were sitting in the "comfort room" at the vet and we were anything but comfortable. To distract myself I came to DU on my smart-phone and the first thing I see in the lounge is a thread with the word "pit bull" in it. My Molly is a pit-bull. We were not fishing for good vibes but...well what you read was exactly how I felt, truth be told I was very apprehensive knowing I might loose my best friend in a few moments. We knew going in that this exploratory surgery had a lot of unknowns.
That was this morning and now it is bed time. The vets found and removed a three pound tumor from my Mollys' belly, along with her spleen. She is home with me now, leaving her at the vets over night was not an option. She is all wrapped up and quite groggy from the pain meds. I elected not to have the tumor biopsied because if it was cancerous there is truly not much we can do considering that she is around 12 years old. Molly is whining a lot, whining as I type this actually but I am told this is normal. Tomorrow morning I will take her back to have the catheter removed and any follow-up the vet deems needed. Thank you to any here who sent good vibes Mollys' way.
