It's supposed to go down to -11°C tomorrow night.

Vancouver hasn't been this cold in years. Most winters we barely get any snow, at least in the past few anyway. January is usually our coldest month and even then it usually hovers around zero or a little bellow. Now go out east towards the parries and Ontario and they seasonally get -20 or -30, they are the reason Canada has a reputation for being cold, but us fragile west coasters aren't used to this

BTW -11°C is 12 F and -30°C is -22F

I think the coldest weather I endured was 18 degrees F. It was awful.

Right now, SoCalif is having some really cold (for us!) weather too. The days aren't even getting much above 60 degrees F, and more often are staying in the fifties. And the nights are of course colder, where I don't know.

Usually the ocean moderates the temperatures, but right now it isn't! And that is true for you as well as for us...

They've canceled 500 flights from DFW tomorrow. We are going to be socked in by ice for the next few days.

It's a bit unusual for it to occur this early in the winter. I was here about five years ago when we had a foot of snow which is the local record. The coldest temperatures that I can recall in Texas in either the Austin or Dallas areas where I lived are about ten degrees.

We are getting a constant sleet tonight so it's going to be a nightmare for the people that have to drive tomorrow. There are so many bridges and overpasses in the DFW area that it is impossible to keep the road crews on top of things in these circumstances. It's looking like most of the schools are canceling classes tomorrow and they are scrambling to reschedule the high school football playoff games (some were moved up to Thursday night before the worst of the weather occurred).

it only got to 12 today, they're saying single digits tomorrow and teens until tuesday. northern colorado gets this cold snap at least once a winter, it just feels like it came a bit early this year.

Just kidding, Vast majority of the population lives nearish the border so we kind of think of the rest as the boonies, wilderness Actually while it does get colder than -25F you have to go fairly far north before you see a lot colder than that for long periods.
