Muppet Family Christmas is one of my favorites.
Jim Henson died way to young.

(5,435 posts)I was surprised that someone 25 years younger than me had even ~heard~ of it, much less HAD it!
My son (age 13) and nephew (age 11) LOVED it!

I get so sick of treacly, sentimental Christmas movies.

(21,020 posts)I watched the last half of it last night after the Heisman ceremonies were over, then stayed up to watch the first half when it was presented again right after.
My favorite scene is the "Mandy" number.
Vera Lynn is just stunning and I can never get over her impossibly small waistline.
And I love Rosemary Clooney's voice in the nightclub number...Love, you didn't do right by me...

(5,435 posts)Tried to explain to them that the reason that it said 'unrated' was NOT due to it being a 'family film', and that it needed to be in the 'ADULT ROOM'...
They didn't listen until a family rented it and then subsequently excoriated them in the local newspaper for being 'smut peddlers of the worst order'. *L*
Still... it's possibly my favorite Malcolm McDowell film...

(14,400 posts)the unrated version. I remember watching it years ago and I just watched it again a couple of weeks ago.
God, it sucked. I mean that in the best way possible, it was bad in so many ways that it actually managed to make it to the Oh my God that sucks category.

(9,527 posts)I usually watch it about once a month, so for me it's not just a Christmas movie. Just something to bolster my spirits when the world opts to suck even more than usual.

(62,406 posts)First saw it when I was @ 10 and it has been #1 in my book ever since.
"Bells of St. Mary's" is #2 although not technically a Christmas movie.

(14,400 posts)if I'm going to be held to the strictest, Scrooge with Alistair Sim. The entire show is on YouTube. I also make a point of watching It's A Wonderful Life a couple of days before Christmas every year.
