I have only ordered books from them. Costume jewelry might be fine, but I don't know about the quality of fine jewelry.

I just typed in Macy's Jewelry - they have a section that organizes gifts by price.

I have never bought jewelry from amazon.

Depends upon what you want to spend and what style she likes.

There are some great contemporary silver earrings on Overstock.com

I have been very happy with many purchases of estate quality and vintage pieces on eBay--but be sure you aren't
buying from someone in India or China (although I have been very happy with pearls bought
from Chinese dealers).

If you are concerned about returns--or want to be able to take something
into a store after Christmas for sizing--try Ross-Simons. I just got an e-mail from
them today. This is their latest promotion http://view.ed4.net/v/9QHOYU/3OMCL4/WP2IEJ/T10N6G/FORMAT=H

Have fun! Hope she likes whatever you choose.

costume jewelry, then yes...it's a decent place.

I've bought loads of it there...rings, bracelets, necklaces...

Another good place I've gotten stuff is Stauer.

http://www.stauer.com/

They have some really nice jewelry...costume and otherwise.

The fake diamond necklace and bracelet I have are just gorgeous.

PS...I just wanted to add...photos online or in their catalog do NOT do the items justice. They really are beautiful in RL

Their jewelry is very nice and good quality. Depends on what you are looking for, though.

I have never bought gold or diamonds! I would go to a reputable local jeweler for something that expensive.
